The single burner propane camp stove is a great method of cooking when there is something that is being prepared that absolutely needs to be kept at a consistent temperature throughout the cooking process and absolutely has to be at a thoroughly cooked state to be safely eaten. Considering how ridiculously inexpensive they are, every camper really should have at least one single burner propane camp stove on hand, even if only for a backup.

The 2 Burner Propane Camp Stove

The 2 burner propane camp stove is the most popular type available. It is the model that your grandparents probably used in their camping trips way back when. The 2 burner camping stoves come in handy for cooking when the majority of the food prepared either can't be or is just not cooked over the campfire. Cooking on a 2 burner propane camp stove is not much different than cooking on a regular size gas or electric stove. Most models do have to be placed on a platform of some sort and campers have been known to put their 2 burner stoves on everything from a picnic table to truck tailgates to cook on. They can also have the propane tank only being attached with the gas line so care needs to be taken to keep the tank away from the cooking flame.

3 Burner Propane Camp Stove

The 3 burner propane camp stove is completely different than any other type. You can get these 3 burner camp stoves with legs so it is not necessary to find a ledge to put it on while cooking. The propane tank for most 3 burner camping stoves typically use the same 16.4oz disposable tank as the ones used for an outdoor grill so this propane camp stove can take up more room than the smaller models talked about here. Regardless, the convenience a 3 burner propane camp stove offers usually makes it worth it.

Backpack Stoves

Backpack stoves are the smallest model camp stove. Backpack stoves consist of a small propane tank with a burner grid placed on top. Not all size pans work well with backpack stoves so the camper has to make sure that the pan being used is not too large for this type of camp stove. backpack stoves are loved by campers and hikers because they are quick and easy to set up and very lightweight and compact.
