Backpack stoves are extremely popular with hikers and hunters because they are the most compact portable camp stove which means that they take up the least amount of space inside their backpack or bag. When you are carrying all of your supplies that you are going to need for any period of time, the compact design of backpack stoves is important because it leaves room for other necessities such as the food to be cooked on top of it.

When out hiking or hunting there is not always enough time to build and maintain a fire for cooking meals. Backpack stoves can quickly be unpacked and assembled by placing the burner on top of the small propane tank. Once the propane is lit, it is ready for cooking any one pan meal. Having the ability to cook something quickly when out in nature is of up most importance with backpackers and hunters because they are always on the move and will need to be able to eat something quickly and safely. Backpack stoves provide that convenience for them.

Backpack Stoves & Propane Camp Stoves

Both backpacking stoves and standard portable propane stoves have many other uses than just for camping. Backpack stoves also make wonderful additions to picnics and any get together where food needs to be served hot but there is no way to cook it on the premises. By taking backpack stoves to sporting events, tailgate parties, fishing trips, or just picnics, anything can be cooked right then and there and served hot for a more pleasant experience and better tasting food. This is especially true with any deep fried items such as elephant ears or funnel cakes which are always a big hit unless they are served cold. Backpack stoves and propane camp stoves can make the difference between an ok food experience and one that is completely memorable.

Backpack stoves can also be used as warmers for keeping food warm at any buffet style meal. Instead of purchasing or renting food warmers, you can place the food in a pan on top of the burner set at a low flame. This works exactly like the larger warmers that you see at many events but without the cost of acquiring those warmers which can be an expensive proposition. Backpack stoves can even be set side by side to keep the larger trays of food warm if needed. Utilizing backpack stoves for other things besides just cooking is becoming a fairly common practice.
